Remote kontrol merupakan alat yang sangat bermanfaat bagi peralatan elektronika terutama pesawat televisi.
Bagaimana jadinya seandainya alat tersebut rusak,tentu kita akan kerepotan dalam memindah saluran televisi .Memang sih remote kontrol bikin kita malas beranjak dari tempat duduk tapi memang itulah kegunaan remote yang memanjakan penggunanya.
Remote kontrol terdiri atas osilator yang dihasilkan oleh kristal (umumnya bernilai 455 khz tapi ada beberapa yang bernilai lain) kemudian dikuatkan oleh sebuah transistor yang selanjutnya dipancarkan oleh lampu led infra merah.
Cahaya yang dipancarkan oleh led tidak dapat dilihat oleh mata kita.Selanjutnya cahaya inframerah diterima oleh sensor penerima dipesawat televisi kemudian diolah oleh ic program .Maka jadilah kita dapat mengontrol pesawat televisi kita.
Kita dapat mengetes remote kontrol masih berfungsi atau tidak dengan menggunakan :
- Alat khusus semacam sensor penerima pada pesawat televisi yang bisa dibeli di toko-toko elektronika
- Pesawat radio AM yang dituning pada frekuensi tertentu yang akan menghasilkan bunyi "tut tut"tiap kali kita memencet tombolnya
- Kamera hp ,kamera hp dapat menangkap cahaya inframerah dari remote kontrol

Berikut langkah-langkah yang dapat dilakukan untuk memperbaiki remote kontrol yang rusak sebelum diputuskan untuk membeli yang baru.
- Bersihkan remote dari debu dengan kuas.Hati-hati saat membersihkan bagian yang ada lapisan karbonnya lebih baik pakai kapas yang diberi alkohol,spiritus,minyak tanah,bensin maupun semprotan contact cleaner bisa pilih salah satu yang tersedia
- Periksa apa ada jalur yang putus atau retak (dalam banyak kasus sering jalur berjamur/berkarat
- Ganti kristal dengan yang baru(sering sekali kristal ini mati)
- Periksa transistor
- Periksa lampu led infrared
- Jika semuanya ok tapi remote tetap ngadat dapat dipastikan icnya yang rusak,kalau sudah pasti rusak memang susah cari sparepartnya jadi saatnya ganti remote atau menunggu kalau ada kanibalan.

Next steps can be done to fix the broken remote control before, decided to buy a new one.- Clean the dust from the remote.Be careful when cleaning the existing layer their carbon better use of the alcohol cotton, oil, kerosene, gasoline and spray contact cleaner can select one of the available- Check what the path is broken or cracked (in many cases often moldy path / rust- Replace the crystal with a new (often once the crystal is dead)- Check the transistor- Check light infrared led- If everything is ok but the remote still does not work ic can be damaged, if it is surely difficult to find the damaged sparepart so remote or change the time to wait if there remote other
